Here stateside we have a holiday today. Veteran’s Day. A day where we are to honor those who have fought for our country. Some people have the day off. Some don’t. I have the feeling that the midwest is likely having fairs, BBQs, and parades today.
It’s been a day of being in front of a machine and making phone calls. Closing in on finishing a rather large project and answering questions posed by a possible employee. Going thru music and categorizing it down to the note is not the easiest task. Gives me a new appreciation for how I should approach my music in the future, especially when it’s for commercial release.
I don’t know much music that is directly attributed to this holiday. However, I do know one song that is by a friend of mine that I’ve met. Don Campbell. He has a knack for writing some really nice tunes. He also has a great knack for interesting chord changes and harmonies. I featured him very early on on Single of the Day.
For the Americans and the Veterans of America, this is your ode to a day to honor the service you have given. Big props to Don for creating a cool song for today!
Be proud and grab it legally. Then play it loud!
