Maybe that headline ought to be disappearing friend. The beginning of the month saw a whole lot of action around me. In the past week though, that action has gone the way of the dodo bird. Well, that’s not entirely true. But things are feeling like they’re in a holding pattern once again.

I do have a show to play tonight. So all is not completely still.

I have been asked to do more cues with a friend who has recently met a music supervisor. Lots of sports type cues. Interesting that I’ve gotten into sports music.

I’m still digging into the new features of the recording software in my studio. That takes time.

I suppose I’m feeling disjointed.

Part of it might be due to the fact that I’m planning a big birthday party this time around. I figured I’ve gone a couple of years without a big party, time to do one.

Part of it might also be due to some friends that I haven’t spoken too in about a month. Ones that I used to speak to on a daily basis. Hmmm…

Because I’m out of sorts right now I’m gonna roll with this country blues tune by 8 Ball Aitken. A easy middle of the road uptempo number that reminds me of something like a Lucinda Williams or something. Packing a standard set of meandering guitars, snappy drums, a strong undercurrent of a bass and relaxed vocals going over the top. It’s a good safe blend of music that gets my toes tapping.

It’s rootsy, and it’s organic. Something that I’m in need of hearing based on all the music I’ve been asked to create in the past couple of weeks. From Lady Ga Ga to Electronica styled Classical music. I need a natural break. I get it today with 8 Ball Aitken.

Inspired by great music and randomly spewed words, it makes for a fun way to learn about new music doesn't it? There is no money that can get you on to the site.
