Today is: Sunday's Hero

I’m not sure that was a great title for today. I guess I’ve been feeling a little lazy today. Especially after spending a whole day in the studio sitting on a drum stool in a room recording acoustic guitar parts. As cool as that might sound it’s actually a lot of work. But I’m happy to say it’s done. I look forward to getting these songs mixed and getting the CD done and out of my system. I’ve been working on it for too long.

I will say that I have to extend a big hand to Robin and Bob over at Taylor Guitars for providing me with two amazing instruments to be using all day yesterday. Now I feel like I don’t have enough in my Taylor 615ce. I now want versions of the two I played yesterday. ARGH.

So today, I decided to be a little lazy. I got up late. I made a killer brunch breakfast of creamed eggs on sourdough with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes. Yum. Then I returned the guitars. I spent a little time watching a movie and now I’m about to make a dinner of salmon stuffed with couscous and a little pinot to go with it. Unfortunately my dinner partner is tied up, so I’m eating it alone. Oh well.

Thus it’s dinner, then I’ll probably record some guitar stuff for a trailer I’m working on, then pop another movie in and have some popcorn. It’s a day off!

Better late than never right?

Well, I’m showing off a song that talks of lazy days. Tesla. If you haven’t heard of them from the 80′s hair metal era, then I suggest checking them out. I really dig their sense of musicality. Yes, musicality in a metal band. I love the guitar tones, the melodies and the songwriting. I’m a closet metal-er. Pounding drums, a raspy vocal, it’s all there.

Since I’m being lazy, that’s about all I’m gonna say on it. I’m amazed that Apple’s links for the songs are still busted. Pretty nutty. So go get the song at Amazon. Also, I recommend checking out their catalog, lots of great hard rock and metal tunes.
