I agree wholeheartedly with all previously posted comments. Polka music is absolutely dynamic, and is something that should be experienced LIVE to fully appreciate its energy! The Versatones web site has links to many bands, so you can search for one in your area. (You may even be lucky enough to find the Versatones are traveling to your neck of the woods for a performance.) In my opinion, BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED is one of Eddie Jr’s best!

I have been a follower of polka music for years. I grew up on it, as did my mom. I’m only 26 years old, and it’s amazing how many people younger then me have been coming out to polka dances and loving it. Alot of the bands now a days aren’t your old time umpa crud that came from polkas past. They are up to date, energetic, get the crowd going entertainers, who need to be appreciated more!!!! Great job at picking Eddie Blazonczyk’s Versatones as your first polka genre song!!! Also look for the bands, The Knewz, Lenny Gomulka, Dyndabrass (you’ll love Hit the Bricks! very comical!) Polka Family, and Polka Country Musicians to start. Happy listening!

Perfect for mix tapes! In the last few years the Versatones’ leader Eddie Blazonczyk has written a lot of really nice pop tunes and arranged them in traditional polka style- he’s a very good composer and singer. He also knows how to take someone else’s pop or country song and transform it with ease and respect for both genres. The albums flow really well with seamless shifts between new material and traditional polkas played by a great band. I don’t think there are many out there in Polkaland as good as he is- but I’d be happy to be wrong. That said, there are some less conventional and more rockin’ polka guys out there (the Polkaholics come to mind) that are worth exploring for your next party.

Very nice. And, if you don’t know Polka, there’s so much more to it than the Beer Barrel Polka, and these guys play fantastic old style polka… I remember hearing them play Under the Bridge, Far Away From Home, just to name a couple. Wonderful! If you get a chance to see them live, go for it! Life’s short-try something new!

Great sound like a progressive jazz type sound with Tex-Mex in it, Luv the Versatones, nice vocals !!!!!! Need more from this group !!!!
